You know we all live for the daily WODs right. We check 'em out before hand and some days its like oh man this is gonna hurt and some days its like this is gonna be fun but we all push ourselves to the limits so that when its done and those endorphins kick in, we have a drink, me I just stick to plain old water straight after working out and you know that first sip is going to be like the sweetest taste ever to pass your lips. The brain starts sending out those signals and you can't for the next daily WOD to come around. Often at Functfit you'll get rest days that leave you feeling kinda the same way. Tonight coach M worked through the cyclical pull up with me. The guy knows his stuff, but you all know that anyway I guess, I left the gym once again feeling totally enlightened (I am the Rev though, enlightenment should be my thing). Thanks Mat, although we've many more rivers to cross, I feel great!!!!
Now on to the Fantasy crossfit world cup team. Tonight we're naming left back and right back. Do you remember that film Bend it like Beckham where a couple of girls showed serious skills playing football. Well as you all know we have quite a few girls with top crossfit skill at FF, I've gone with Sian at leftback and Maxine the Machine at right back. Both kick the boys asses when we're doing the WODs keep it going girls. I show the boys in work the routines we do, they can't even get close to starting them let alone finishing them and you want to see the look on their faces when I tell them I'm regularly beaten by a couple of girls! You'll have to fight it out though as to whose gonna be Keira Knightley and whose gonna be the one that went on to star in ER.
Umm might be another long one or I might have to come back later to finish my post off. Lets see where shall we start, I think with my new FunctFit t-shirt. It's great, me and Gav look like twins and before you all start I don't want any comments how Gav is now looking like Arnold Shwarzenegger so that must make me Danny Davito! This morning was mental, nice to finally meet Mrs shop Physical, another top crossfitter in the making, just like her other half. Yet again the gym had everything, there was a tough workout to negotiate, we had people talking diets, techniques, different ways to scale and ultimately people training hard. It was fantastic, just like I imagine it would be at crossfit Santa Cruz. Big shout to Chris who felt the full force of the HSPU's. Craig and I went through every single one of them with you bro. Through all the pain there will be so much more gain. As I mentioned earlier though, everybody gave it their all once again and it's fantastic to see. Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, more on you later in the fantasy ff crossfit world cup football team. (But no talk of Jaffa cakes)
dear revaldo thanks to you and craig, and all the the other guys, for the help to day, i was like a wet rag, in the gym i think jamie's boy, would have kicked my but, ive had some peanut butter, and a nice knap since should be ok monday, anyway on to the ff football team you need a big engine for midfeld,and drive a pickup and lean and sharp for a striker, and drive a 4X4 in black just a suggestion! cheers guys.
all the comments are class, just like the people wrighting them. Nice to get a good muscle up progression for all the guys to feel the movement. Revaldo your comments are always on the mark, an accurate summary of the days events, and long socks way to stick it out to the end, train like an animal! Funct fitness is the place where people come to train at the limit and laugh thier socks off (long or short) after the storm of movements is over. Great to see such a hardcore bunch of athletes all in one place, didn't think it would happen as quick, put simply, AMAZING!!
You're not going to get anywhere without a good coach and a top class place to train in, and we're lucky to have both. I know it's sounds like a bit of serious FunctFit arse kissing but it's gone from 20 years of training and no one really noticing to 7 months of FunctFit training and everyone noticing for me, it kinda speaks for itself doesn't it!
Nice suggestions Longsocks, I love it, the team is more or less finalised and those guys are in there but don't jump the gun kemosabe, strikers will be named after we finish defence and finally we'll move onto midfield. Anyway in central defence I've gone for Craig and Jamie. Craig is like our own John Terry, he's got a fantastic engine and is really getting to grips with the crossfit moves. Keep it up big fella, also he's great at providing support and motivation to others training when he's done. He's there also to keep Jamie in check, they'll complement each other well. Now onto Jamie, I know what your thinking he's more like Gazza with his diet tactics and how he wears his heart on his sleeve but Gazza didn't play defence. However, Jamie gives it his all in his workouts while still managing to put a smile on our faces and he'll never let us down. Looking good Jamie! So thats Manager, Goalkeeper and back four done tomorrow we're onto the strikers.
Just for you Rev 19:41 I was hoping for sub 20 and got it, just under 4 mins slower than speal and I'll take that all day long. Sorry you had to go early Rev but you can always catch up later
Ooooh yes yes yes. Workout time of the year so far! Just got back in(10:45pm), had to sub 30 cals on bike, thrusters as required and 30 f***in towel pull ups (sorry for the language but I don't know how else to describe them). Then down to 20 and 10 for rounds 2 and 3. I tell you guys it's times like this you really appreciate what you have at the gym, the bike sub was crap and I hate towel pullups (although they went better than anticipated).

(Nearly put one of the 135# thrusters through my boys pool table, that would have gone down well).
Wish I'd been there Mat, you know how I love a good time! See you soon guys.
Oops forgot to mention DB swings done instead of KB swings (numbers as required). Preferring the feel of the KB now to the DB. Thats a good thing if nothing else!
