Hey fellow Crossfitters, hold your horses!! Hang fire on them Machine T Shirts. Its all going a bit fast for me here. Was in Funct Fitness yesterday catching up on day before workout and in conversation Mat asked would I be up for the games next year. I kinda said maybe if I can get muscle ups and hand stand press ups. I came home did a few jobs around the house, went to see the kids school concert, went to bed. Got up early today and down Aberavon beach by 8.30am for kids lifeguards comp. Came home and holy moses(sorry Rev) I'm entering the Games, we have 'The Machine' merchandise on order and a flight booked to the Europeans!!!!!! Help!! Mat you have alot to answer for and alot of work to do!!
max you cannot back out now, ive ordered the posters, a giant foam hand (gladiator style) and flags for the cubie!!! get down the bloody gym, I know you can nail the MU AND HSPU!! I will make the rocket fuel for you!!! xxxx
Thanks for the support guys! Stods I'm liking the sound of that hand and long socks there are conditions on me competing and one would definately be that you have to shave your legs!!
Rev I might need to come and see you for some help from above. I've purchased a power band(£10 from my brother in law should anyone be interested!!)which may or may not help but I think a little spiritual help could be called for too! What do you think? If you could help me with my training then I could maybe help you with your hair removal problem? Have you ever considered waxing??
The Rev and his flock are already fighting the good fight for the cause. I think though with the tools you've got lady divine intervention won't be necessary.
On the hair removal thing......... I've heard waxing can be quite painful, remember I'm a mere boy. I've found this stuff you rub on leave it a little while and wash it off in the shower. Shaving was ok but quite time consuming....now I just Wash and Go.
Rev, The cream that your are using(I am presuming is your wifes, by the way does she know your using it?)works well and is a good substitute for shaving but regrowth is rather quick. The best option is by far waxing as it lasts alot longer!! You could get it done professionally or there are kits that you can use at home.
How did it go today fellow Funct Fitters? Looks a killer - 75 thrusters - ouch! Gonna catch up with this one tomorrow, recovery day today for me & Mrs SP from too many champagne cocktails down the bay yesterday :)
You called 'em correct yesterday SP and you said they'd be nasty too! I'll have a little play with them tonight, 75 could take me a looonnnggg time though but they're gonna hit the sweet spot for sure. You could have invited me, Gav and Theo for cocktails, I'll have a Tequila sunrise. See you soon Bro.
It was horrible!!! First two sets went quite well, after that they were down to 3's and 4's at a time. The problem with the run was it was over so quick that you were faced with the thrusters again. Not a gasser for me, more of a wrist breaker!!
Found rounds 4 & 5 unbelievably difficult. I agree with Gav, I spent way to long getting set every time I put the bar down but could do nothing about it. Power clean technique got plenty of practise. Is there a cocktail called "Can't stop the shakes"?
Also cleaned the bar every time Rev, and squat cleaned into the first rep of the many sets, broke 10/5 then went 8/4/3 every round after round 1. Really took my time on the runs (needed the break) time was 25:15 and felt every damn second. Got to say tho I'm hoping we get a good number of us going to the uk games, if your up for it we can start training now, let me know who you are so I can program our training and work on those weak spots, oh there are some fun times ahead lol
Rev time today a very humbling 42:39. Good idea to squat clean into first rep if you can, very impressive time Mat, very impressive! Lets hope the Doc gives your knee the all clear and we'll be sending M & M to the games. Some of these WODs really leave me feeling, I don't know how to put it.....but they really put life in perspective for me.
Theos' probably off jet setting for the weekend sunning himself on his yacht in the Med.
The way it's going it's looking like M,M and M with R,G close behind. The UK's will be all fun. Rev 42 minutes, man that's got to hurt and it's only day one bring it on.
I must say matt, you have a lovely way with words!! your right, sleep is better then any kind of diamond!!! which is surprising for a Laleston girl!!! xxx
Is that you Revsie in the background???
ReplyDeleteUm, yes I think so. The boys were working hard. Not sure really what I'm up to!
